Active Ingredients:

  • desloratadine

Action mechanism and therapeutic effect of the medication:
Clarinex contains the active ingredient desloratadine which belongs to a group of medicines called H1 histamine receptor blockers. By blocking histamine receptors Clarinex helps to prevent the effect of histamine. Histamine is a mediator which play a significant role in the development of allergic reactions.

Medical indications: Clarinex is approved to treat:

  • Seasonal allergic rhinitis
  • Chronic idiopathic urticaria

Clarinex contraindications, precautions and warnings:

  • Hypersensitivity
  • Pregnancy, breastfeeding
  • With caution: severe renal insufficiency, pediatric patients

Clarinex side effects: As with any other drug, side effects can occur with desloratadine. However, it does not mean that everyone who takes the medicine will experience these adverse effects. In most cases the preparation is well tolerated. Desloratadine may cause the following side effects:
