Active Ingredients:

  • Fluconazole

The commercial name of the medication may differ from the brand one. Generic Diflucan manufactured by Inison Pharmaceuticals is available under commercial name Fole.

Action mechanism and therapeutic effect of the medication: Diflucan belongs to a group of drugs called antimycotics. The drug is a powerful inhibitor of sterol synthesis in th fungal cells. Inability to produce sterol leads to disorders in reparation of the fungal cell walls thus causing cell death.

Medical indications: Fluconazole is used in treatment of the following disorders:

  • Systemic Candidosis
  • Vaginal candidosis
  • Mucous membrane candidosis
  • Skin mycosis
  • Cryptococcal infections and meningitis
  • Prophylaxis of fungal infections in patients with HIV and malignant tumors
  • Severe endemic mycosis

Diflucan contraindications, precautions and warnings:

  • Hypersensitivity to the components of the preparation
  • Pregnancy
  • Breastfeeding

Fluconazole side effects: As with any other drug, side effects can occur with Diflucan. However, it does not mean that everyone who takes the medicine will experience these adverse effects. In most cases the preparation is well tolerated. Fluconazole may cause the following side effects:

  • Headache
  • Abdominal pain
  • Diarrhea
  • Meteorism
  • Rash
  • Seizures
  • Anaphylactic reactions
