Active Ingredients:

  • montelukast

Action mechanism and therapeutic effect of the medication:
Montelukast is a cysteinyl leukotriene receptor blocker. It prevents the formation of excessive secretion in bronchi and swelling of the mucous membrane in the respiratory tract. It also helps to reduce the severity of asthma and the frequency of asthma attacks.

Medical indications:

  • Bronchial asthma (prevention and long-term treatment)
  • Aspirin-sensitive asthma
  • Exercise-induced asthma

Singulair contraindications, precautions and warnings:

  • Hypersensitivity
  • Pediatric use
  • with caution: pregnancy, lactation

Singulair side effects:
As with any other drug, side effects can occur with Montelukast. However, it does not mean that everyone who takes the medicine will experience these adverse effects. In most cases the preparation is well tolerated . Montelukast may cause the following side effects:

  • abdominal pain, headache, nausea
  • flu syndrome, cough, sinusitis, pharyngitis
  • increased activity of liver transaminases
  • allergic reactions

Singulair can potentially interact with the following groups of drugs:
