Active Ingredients:

  • ethinyl estradiol and drospirenone

Action mechanism and therapeutic effect of the medication:
Yasmin contains a complex of female sex hormones estrogens and progestin in very low doses. Like other oral contraceptives the medication work by inhibiting the release of luteinizing and follicle-stimulating hormones which are responsible for the ovulation. The medication also increases the viscosity of the uterine mucous. This makes nearly impossible for the spermatozoans to achieve the uterine. The active ingredient drosperinone exerts diuretic action(helps to prevent ware retention) and possesses anti-androgenic activity (this is beneficial for acne treatment)

Generic Yasmin contradictions, precautions and warnings:
Yasmin is contraindicated in the following conditions:

  • Known allergy to any of the drug ingredients

  • Severe liver diseases including tumors, hepatitis

  • Kidney diseases
  • Bleedings from the vagina
  • Pregnancy
  • Breastfeeding
