Omeprazole acts specifically by inhibiting H-/K-AT phase. The drug does not affect acetylcholine and histamine receptors. Omeprazole is not stable in acid environment. The capsule decomposes fast in the stomach and releases microgranules covered by a specific layer. After that it goes to duodenum. This provides a better and gradual absorption of the drug.
