Mobic belongs to a group of drugs called NSAID's or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory preparations. The drug exerts anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic effects. The preparation is fully absorbed, penetrates tissue-blood barrier.

Which conditions are treated with Meloxicam?

The preparation is used in the following case:

  • Rheumatoid arthritis
  • Osteoarthritis
  • Arthrosis
  • The preparation may be used in treatment of other inflammatory and degenerative joint disease which are accompanied by pain syndrome of different intensity if prescribed by your health care provider.

What should a patient know before using Mobic?

The Meloxicam should not be used in cases of:

  • Hypersensitivity to any components of the preparation or to other NSAID's
  • Stomach or duodenal ulcer
  • Severe liver failure
  • Terminal renal failure
  • Pregnancy
  • Lactation period
  • Young age prior to 15 years

The preparation must be administered with caution in cases of:

  • Gastrointestinal disorders
  • Dehydration
  • Cardiac failure
  • Liver cirrhosis
  • Nephrotic syndrome
  • Elderly patients

Which adverse effects may manifest when using the medication?

The side effects of Mobic include:

  • Gastrointestinal tract: Dyspepsia, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, esophagitis, gastroduodenal ulcers, constipation or diarrhea, meteorism CNS and sensory organs: dizziness, headache, ringing in the ears, somnolence
  • Other: swelling, hypertension, increased heart rate, increased creatine and urine levels in the blood serum, anemia, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, photosensibilisation, allergic reactions
