

The word Dermatology comes from Greek words "derma" which means Skin and "logos" - study.
Dermatology is a part of clinical science that studies skin functions and structure in the normal state and during pathology. Dermatology also develops methods of diagnosis, treatment and prophylaxis of skin diseases.
The reasons of skin problems are various and complicated. Our skin is always affected by external influence, which includes infection (bacteria, viruses, fungals etc.) that could be the reason of abnormal changes.
On the other hand, our skin is connected closely with internal organs and sometimes internal organs disease may lead to skin pathology. The factors leading to skin damage could be the following: personal predisposition, level of body resistance and also social factors - working and living conditions.
Chronic tonsillitis, decayed teeth, maxillary sinusitis may cause hives, erythema multiforme, psoriasis, Biett's disease and other dermatosis conditions development. There are also inborn skin diseases that appear either as a result of prenatal infection penetration or genetically caused.
